Jean-Philippe Asselin works mainly in civil and commercial litigation, insurance law, professional liability and construction law.
Concerned by his customers' needs, he efficiently identifies the problems they face. Hs dynamism and professionalism combined with his practical sense lead him to develop the various essential strategies for their resolution.
His practice has led him to represent different companies, institutions, professionals and insurers before the Courts of all instances.
His passion for the profession brought him to act as a mentor for students-at-law in the past years and has also led him to teach at École du Barreau.

Since 2010 - Jean-Philippe Asselin teaches Prior claims, hypothecs and redaction to students at École du Barreau.
Representative mandates
Has represented various conventional mortgage holders in connection with the sale of a building following the insolvency of the contractor and where the lack of funds forced the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal to choose between the notions of "plus value relative" and that of "plus-value absolue".
Represented various contractors holding construction hypothecs in relation to the sale, under the authority of justice, of a sports complex managed by a non-profit organization which became insolvent.
Represented many contractors in connection with the various appeal issues against either the Quebec Ministry of Transport or different cities and municipalities.
