Description
Vincent de l’Étoile is part of the Litigation Group, and has developed an expertise mainly in the fields of civil and commercial litigation, class actions, insurance law and professional liability.
Known for his enthusiasm and passion for law, Vincent represents various businesses, institutions and insurance companies before judicial courts at all instances.
As part of his university studies, he won the Laval University Faculty of Law’s moot competition in 2004 (Coupe du Doyen), earning “Best-Pleader Honours” in the quarterfinals. Vincent also participated in the Jean Pictet International Humanitarian Law Competition, held in Collonges-la-Rouge, France, in 2005.

Represents a major financial institution in various class actions instituted by credit card holders in relation to the establishment of fees relating to the services provided and the legality of provisions of revolving credit agreements, as well as in class a action instituted in British Columbia by merchants alleging infringements to competition. In addition to the technical and regulatory issues specific to this industry, these proceedings involve the application of the Consumer Protection Act as well as the Competition Act.
