Tina Hobday, a partner in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, was a speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) at its Spring Education Meeting. The event was held from May 13 to 16 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tina Hobday and ASWB legal advisor Dale Atkinson shared a session entitled Legal Issues Confronting Boards Faced with Shifting Resources.

François LeBel to speak on reasonable accommodation in the context of the administrative process |

On April 20th, François LeBel, a partner at Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will deliver a presentation at a Canadian Institute conference on advanced administrative law. The issue of reasonable accommodation remains prominent in the news and is a constant preoccupation of courts and attorneys dealing with human rights and freedoms. François' presentation will be on how to proceed when making an accommodation request under the administrative process. This event will take place at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal in Montréal.

To mark the occasion of International Women's Day, the Quebec Bar and its Committee on Women in the Legal Profession are organizing a luncheon conference featuring Marie Cossette, a lawyer in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins. The theme of Marie's presentation will be "How to identify invisible barriers for women in the legal profession".

Bernard Cliche to give a presentation to the Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutions |

Bernard Cliche will be giving two information sessions to the Association of Treasurers of Religious Institutions (ATTIR) members this coming February 9th and 11th. The sessions will be on the topic of Law and Legislation: changes to CSST legislation in classification and prevention matters. The first session will be given on February 9th at the Maison généralice des Sœurs de la Charité de Québec, in Beauport, and the second on February 11th at the Sanctuaire Marie-Reine-des-Cœurs in Montréal.

Marie-Claude Carrier to speak at the 13th Annual Convention of the Corporation of General Contractors of Quebec (CEGQ) |

Marie-Claude Carrier, a partner in the Québec City office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will give a presentation entitled "Is it possible to publish a legal construction hypothec (builder’s lien) against the immovable of a public project manager?" at the 13th Annual Convention of the Corporation of General Contractors of Quebec (CEGQ), which will take place next February 10th to 13th at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montréal. Marie's presentation, which will shed much needed light on this complex subject for the benefit of Quebec’s general contractors, will be given on February 12th at 11:00 a.m.
