Jean-François De Rico will be giving a 90-minute presentation entitled “The legal framework of information technology” to a continuing legal education conference of the Quebec Bar next March, as part of Les grands rendez-vous de la formation. While 95% of the information we use is in electronic form, 95% of the evidence led before Quebec courts is on paper. What is the impact of electronic documentation on the application of the "best evidence" rule and on concepts such as “an original”, authenticity and reliability? The presentation, approved by the Quebec Bar for CLE credits, will take place at the Hotel Plaza Quebec in Québec City from 10:30 a.m. to noon on March 18, 2011.

Louise Boutin, a partner in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will be a co-presenter at a CREW Platinum Series conference organized by the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) network. Louise's presentation, which she will deliver with co-presenter Corinne Li, a chartered appraiser at SNC-Lavalin Nexacor, will be entitled "Real Estate Assessment: Everything you need to know!", and will be given at 12:00 p.m. on March 8 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal. Approval of the conference for mandatory continuing education credit from the Quebec Bar and the Quebec Order of Chartered Appraisers is pending.
