Sébastien Laprise, a partner in the Québec City office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will be giving a conference presentation on October 27 at the Québec City Convention Centre on the occasion of the Journée des acquisitions (Procurement Day) of the Centre de services partagés du Québec, a provincial government entity that facilitates the procurement of services by public bodies. The theme of his presentation will be “Succeeding where others have failed: Preventing and thwarting collusion, bid-rigging and influence peddling aimed at public purchasing agents and members of selection committees.”

Sébastien Laprise, a partner in the Québec City office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will be hosting two workshops during the annual convention of the Quebec Federation of Municipalities. The theme of the first workshop will be "Managing Municipal Property: New Responsibilities for Municipalities", and that of the second, "Codes of Ethics, Statutes, Values and Principles: Solving the Conundrum". They will be held respectively on Thursday September 30 at 2:00 p.m. and on Friday October 1 at 1:30 p.m., at the Québec City Convention Centre.

Tina Hobday, a partner in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, was a speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) at its Spring Education Meeting. The event was held from May 13 to 16 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tina Hobday and ASWB legal advisor Dale Atkinson shared a session entitled Legal Issues Confronting Boards Faced with Shifting Resources.

François LeBel to speak on reasonable accommodation in the context of the administrative process |

On April 20th, François LeBel, a partner at Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will deliver a presentation at a Canadian Institute conference on advanced administrative law. The issue of reasonable accommodation remains prominent in the news and is a constant preoccupation of courts and attorneys dealing with human rights and freedoms. François' presentation will be on how to proceed when making an accommodation request under the administrative process. This event will take place at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal in Montréal.
