Tremendous Success of the BCE Symposium held by the Canadian Bar Association – Quebec Division |

On April 30, 2009, Langlois Kronström Desjardins was in the forefront of the BCE Symposium held by the Canadian Bar Association – Quebec Division. Gerry Apostolatos, a partner of the firm, both organized the event and presented a compelling presentation as one of the main speakers. He was also the moderator for the first panel, which dealt with the duties of corporate directors in change of control situations.

Strong turnout from Langlois Kronström Desjardins at the Quebec Bar’s annual convention |

On May 28, 29, and 30 the Quebec Bar will hold its annual convention at the Sheraton Centre in Montreal to the theme of Showing Leadership. No fewer than five Langlois Kronström Desjardins partners and lawyers (Richard Ramsay, Michel Jolin, Jean-François De Rico, Raynold Langlois, and Chantal Chatelain) will take part in six presentations. The presentations will look at professional practice, litigation, and administrative law.

Michel Lebeuf, an attorney at the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will co-chair the seventh edition of the Vérifications diligentes et transactions commerciales conference hosted by Insight. This training session for lawyers, notaries, corporate legal advisors, and paralegals will take place on May 26 and 27 at Hôtel InterContinental in Montréal. Jean-François Pichette, an attorney at the Québec City office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will speak at the seminar Les développements récents en droit des assurances, hosted by the Quebec Bar’s professional development service. His talk entitled “All About Statutory Examination” will look at this special type of examination. This one-day seminar will take place on May 8 at 9 a.m. at the InterContinental Hotel in Montréal.

Marie Cossette to speak at women in law seminar |

Marie Cossette, an attorney at the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, will speak at the 4th edition of Colloque Les femmes en droit – Les facteurs du succès (Women in Law Seminar – Success Factors). Marie Cossette will chair the first session and speak on the topic of “effective communication.” She will discuss simple strategies for getting one’s message across to a variety of audiences. This event will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Mount Stephen Club in Montréal.
