Description
Having graduated with honours in civil and common law from McGill University, picking up the Gerald S. Tritt Prize (for the best special contracts results) along the way in 2004, Catherine Galardo began her practical training as a student at the Quebec Research Centre of Private and Comparative Law and as a student clerk at the Superior Court under the Honourable Louis Crête before beginning her career at Langlois Kronström Desjardins.
Catherine decided to devote herself primarily to labour & education law. She is also a member of the firm’s health law group.
Catherine represents a number of unionized & non-unionized businesses and public sector organizations in her labour law practice. At the moment, the bulk of her practice is with school boards across Quebec.

Since 2008 - Delivered a presentation entitled "Disciplinary Management: Loyalty, Competence, and Attendance", as part of a training session organized by the Ordre des CRHA du Québec.
2007 - Worked on a presentation entitled "Amendments to the Education Act", to the Fédération des Commissions scolaires du Québec (Quebec School Boards Federation) by Yann Bernard and Bernard Jacob.
2005 - Worked on a presentation entitled "How to Draft an Attendance Policy That Stands Up to Scrutiny by Arbitrators and Tribunals".
2005 - Worked on a presentation entitled "A Review of Psychological Harassment Jurisprudence in Quebec".

Representative mandate
Employment Law - Senior Executive
Successfully defended a major financial institution against a claim for constructive dismissal that called into question the institution's respect for the applicable legal rules and the soundness of its corporate governance (currently under appeal).
