Chantal Chatelain has been appointed to the Quebec Bar Advisory Committee on Class Action Suits for the 2009–2010 fiscal year.

The Committee’s mandate is to discuss the workings of courts dealing with class action suits, reflect on the procedural resources for facilitating their management, evaluate the adequacy of the rules governing Superior Court practices for class action proceedings, and propose amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure of Quebec and modifications to the procedural rules. Chantal Chatelain is a seasoned class action attorney. Her achievements include successfully contesting an application for class action status in a suit against generic drug manufacturers for over $3.8 million and securing the dismissal of class action proceedings in case involving cellular telephony roaming fees.
