On December 6, 2008, in Paris, Yann Bernard—a partner at Langlois Kronström Desjardins—was elected to a four-year term as a member of the Legal Commission of the International Fencing Federation, fencing’s international governing body. Close to twenty candidates from as many countries were considered for the ten open seats on the Commission.
Yann Bernard was a member of the national fencing team for several years and has represented Canada at numerous international competitions. His professional practice includes amateur sports law in the service of sports federations, the Canadian Olympic Committee, and anti-doping authorities.
