Bâtonnier Henri Grondin joins Langlois Kronström Desjardins

Québec City, January 13, 2010 - The management of Langlois Kronström Desjardins is pleased to announce that Bâtonnier Henri Grondin has joined the firm as counsel. Mr. Grondin was until recently a senior partner of law firm Grondin Poudrier Bernier.

 

Henri Grondin specializes in labour and administrative law and is highly regarded in business and government circles. He is currently the honorary Consul of Finland in Québec City, an honorary life member of the American Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association, a member of the Advisory Committee of Laval University’s Faculty of Law, chair of the Canadian Association of Members of the Ordre national du mérite de France, and vice-chair of the Société des relations internationales de Québec.

Mr. Grondin was formerly chair of Quebec’s Conseil consultatif de la justice (1980-1986), a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague (1989-1995), chair of the Union Internationale des Avocats (1991-1992), a member of the Conseil de la Magistrature du Québec and of its Executive Committee (2001-2007) and chair of the International Francophone Bar Conference (2004-2005). He has received many decorations throughout his career, including that of Knight of the National Order of Québec (Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Québec), Officer of France’s National Order of Merit (Officier de l’Ordre national du Mérite) and of Finland’s Order of the White Rose, and Knight of the National Order of Burkina Faso (Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Burkina Faso). He was chairman and member of the board of Québec’s Musée de la civilization from 1994 to 2009. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Law Faculty of Laval University (1974-1975), Bâtonnier général du Québec (1975-1976) and Bâtonnier de Québec (1974-1975).

Tina Hobday, Conference Speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards

Tina Hobday, a partner in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, was a speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) at its Spring Education Meeting. The event was held from May 13 to 16 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tina Hobday and ASWB legal advisor Dale Atkinson shared a session entitled Legal Issues Confronting Boards Faced with Shifting Resources.
