Montréal, October 23, 2008 — For the first time ever in Canada, a new book examines the importance of marketing and communication for business development in the professional services industry.
Published in English and French by Éditions Yvon Blais (a Thomson Reuters company), Marketing, Communication and Business Development in the Legal Profession is the first book written by Denyse Thiffault of the legal firm Langlois Kronström Desjardins. It focuses on the future outlook and practice of law, especially in private firms. Stiff competition, unique positioning, a targeted client approach, remuneration, and the culture of information sharing are among the many issues facing today’s attorneys.
The book explains the differences between marketing and communication and describes how these two disciplines can help professionals build client loyalty and attract new clients. It shows professionals how to position themselves as veritable strategic advisors, broaden their contact network, develop their skills of influence, and establish cross-selling strategies.
Author Denyse Thiffault is a manager with over 20 years’ experience in general administration, marketing, and business development at major national and international organizations.
In recent years she has devoted her career to the legal profession and now heads the Marketing, Communication, and Business Development Department at Langlois Kronström Desjardins, one of Quebec’s largest law firms, with over 120 professionals in Montreal, Québec City, and Lévis.
The book is intended for all attorneys, managers, and advisors in the professional services industry, especially those in private firms.
