Participating for the first time in the SME category, Langlois Kronström Desjardins earned silver. Langlois Kronström Desjardins is the only law office among the 2008 finalists and the only legal firm in the Québec–Chaudière-Appalaches region to have ever been honoured with this award.

To qualify, businesses had to meet certain admissibility criteria, including having their place of business in Québec and being in operation for at least three years. In addition, candidates had to show proof of sound and effective management.
