Langlois Kronström Desjardins makes Opération Enfant Soleil its main cause
Québec City, May 14, 2009— The law firm Langlois Kronström Desjardins proudly announces that it has made a concrete commitment to Opération Enfant Soleil in order to provide help to sick kids across Quebec.

“The natural affinities between Opération Enfant Soleil and Langlois Kronström Desjardins are what led us to this decision,” explains Managing Partner Jean-François Gagnon. “The human values that are so important to Langlois Kronström Desjardins are at the very heart of the Opération Enfant Soleil mission. Their goal is to help sick kids by providing quality care, and they support thousands of families across Quebec in the communities where Langlois Kronström Desjardins provides its services. In addition, the credibility and importance of Opération Enfant Soleil’s efforts are well established, which is important to our firm.”

In May, Langlois Kronström Desjardins will host different fund-raising activities in its Montréal, Québec City, and Lévis offices. The firm’s commitment to the cause is tangible and clear: Langlois Kronström Desjardins will contribute $1 for every dollar collected during the campaign. The total amount raised will then proudly be presented during the May 30–31 Opération Enfant Soleil telethon. Langlois Kronström Desjardins is the only large law firm to have made Opération Enfant Soleil its principal charitable cause.

“Through our association with Opération Enfant Soleil, we once again demonstrate that we are a large firm with a human touch. We’re proud of the commitment we are announcing today and we are certain that together, we will make a difference in the lives of thousands of children,” states Jean-François Gagnon.

Founded in 1988, Opération Enfant Soleil is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support high quality pediatrics and social development projects for all Quebec children.

A major victory for TELUS
We recently acted for a major telecommunications company (TELUS) in injunction proceedings brought by the second-lowest bidder on a tender put out by SigmaSanté (formerly Approvisionnement Montréal) on behalf of six healthcare institutions with a total of 29 locations. The call for tenders was for the installation of an IP telephone system and the upgrading of IT systems. The plaintiff sought an interlocutory injunction to suspend performance of the contract, which had been awarded to our client, the lowest bidder.
