Michel Farrah, general manager, elected At-Large Director of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA)

Montréal, June 15, 2009 – Michel Farrah, general manager of the law firm Langlois Kronström Desjardins, was elected on May 19 to the 2009-2010 board of directors of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). This international organization, whose head office is in Illinois, provides support to professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments and government legal agencies. Formed in 1971, the ALA has more than 10,000 members on five continents.

“We are immensely proud of Michel Farrah’s appointment to the ALA board” stated Jean-François Gagnon, the firm’s managing partner. “With more than 20 years’ experience in law-firm management, Michel is a seasoned professional who richly deserves this board position. His highly competent management contributes to the excellence of our firm. I have no doubt that he will succeed in promoting and advancing the professionalism and development of law firm administrators and managers.”

An active member of the ALA since 1987, Mr. Farrah has been involved in several of its committees, and was president of its Quebec chapter, the Association des Administrateurs d’études juridiques (ALA). As the only Canadian on the ALA’s board, he will increase Langlois Kronström Desjardins’ visibility throughout North America and abroad.

Tina Hobday, Conference Speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards

Tina Hobday, a partner in the Montréal office of Langlois Kronström Desjardins, was a speaker for the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) at its Spring Education Meeting. The event was held from May 13 to 16 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina. On Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tina Hobday and ASWB legal advisor Dale Atkinson shared a session entitled Legal Issues Confronting Boards Faced with Shifting Resources.
